What are autoimmune diseases?

At Biosalud Day Hospital we are specialists in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. They are known because the immune system itself attacks structures of the body (depending on the disease) by recognizing them as foreign, when their their tolerance is lowered. Biological Medicine allows us to regulate the immune system by restoring tolerance to its normal state, which is why we do not usually prescribe immunosuppressants, but instead we look for what causes the immune system to be intolerant.

Biological Medicine shows that in these cases, apart from a specific genetic predisposition, there are always a series of external factors that activate this genetic load. Heavy metals, chronic viral infections, vitamin D deficiency, chemical toxins, mycotoxins, candidiasis and chronic intestinal infections are some of these factors. Even some autoimmune diseases are caused by Lyme disease.

In Biosalud we are specialists in biological medicine (https://biosalud.eu/integrative-medicine/) and in the treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Biosalud’s experience in autoimmune diseases

Biological and Integrative Medicine offers us the possibility of curing or controlling some autoimmune diseases, especially those refractories to conventional treatment, sometimes due to an error in the causal diagnosis.

In Biosalud, we first obtain the analytical tests that show us with certainty that we are facing an autoimmune disease, and then continue with different treatments that we have been developing for more than 30 years, always innovating and offering the latest technological advances to our patients.

In addition to rebalancing the body and reversing when possible the autoimmune process, we always improve the quality of life of our patients, regenerate damaged tissue through Regenerative Medicine and regulate the immune system with techniques such as Molecular Hyperthermia.

Most frequent autoinmune diseases

    Symptoms of autoimmune diseases

The symptoms of an autoimmune disorder vary depending on the disease that is being developed, the location of the immune assault, and the patient’s genetic tendency to the disease. In addition, the aggressiveness of the autoimmune process will depend on the patient’s previous state, previous illnesses and the causes that have set the process in motion. Usually, the first symptoms are fatigue, muscle aches and rather low fever, although the classic symptom of an autoimmune disease is inflammation, which can cause redness, pain and swelling.

    Diagnosis of autoimmune diseases

Biological Medicine does not seek a diagnosis that consists solely of giving a name to the disease suffered by the patient, which is why in our clinic we take care to determine a diagnosis of the causes of the disease, the physiopathology of the set of symptoms and signs presented by the patient, as well as genetic loads, and in general, the autoimmune disease and its environment. In Biosalud we carry out a complete battery of tests, based on a complete clinical history and exploration of the patient. With the results in hand, we will know the genetic load and the external and internal causal factors that have activated it, as well as the level of affectation.

    Treatment of autoimmune diseases

The treatment is personalized and consists of several phases, which combine the techniques of biological medicine with others of conventional medicine, if deemed necessary. In addition, a natural symptomatic treatment is prescribed for the patient to improve. First, functional regulation, toxin drainage, regulation of pH and cell oxidation, or therapeutic apheresis to filter the immunocomplexes, along with intestinal cleansing, are performed. In a second phase, a bowel cleansing is initiated. Finally, we have a third phase in which we carry out a regulation of the immune system and a deactivation of the genetic loads that developed the disease.

The specialist in autoimmune diseases responds

I have had an autoimmune disease for some years and the treatments with cortisone and methotrexate do not work for me, can you treat me?

Of course. However, the more years of evolution the disease takes and the greater the dependence there is on the prescribed immunosuppressive treatments, the more complex the treatment will be, but it is always possible to improve.

If I’m already under treatment, do I have to stop or should I wait until I’m better?

No. You should follow it as long as necessary. Our treatments are perfectly compatible with those of conventional medicine. In addition, we will focus on minimizing side effects.

Will I be able to live without pain?

In principle, yes. We have the most advanced techniques for the treatment of pain and especially if it is inflammatory. We have cases in which with molecular hyperthermia we have achieved that in a single session a patient goes from not closing their hands due to pain and inflammation, to being painless in 30 minutes and with their hands closed. The good thing is, these results persists over time.

And once the symptoms have been controlled, what is the next step?

The treatment continues with the regeneration of damaged tissues and structures through Regenerative Medicine. We will also deal with deactivating the genetic loads that have been activated with the autoimmune disease, applying techniques of Immunogenetic Biomedicine.

Can I prevent an autoimmune disease if I have relatives who have or have had it?

Yes, it is very important to follow our Biosalud Day Hospital Club Prevent Program. We will control all the parameters that affect the implementation of the disease, preventing the activation of the genetic load of predisposition. Biological Medicine is the only one capable of doing this.
